Alummikon Dock Systems
A Revolution in Docking Systems

Working in combination with the SBSS are the Deep Lake Design Aspects (DLDA). The DLDA was developed when a collaboration of professional dock designers, builders, installers, and users sat down and discussed what issues they had encountered with various other dock systems on deep lakes. The DLDA incorporates the use of structurally ribbed and thickened extrusions in the frame where known areas of damage were found in prior systems due to continued fatigue in deep water settings.
Larger dimensional decking supports are incorporated into the design creating structural depth to increase dock life and resist damage, while maintaining weight savings and increasing strength. Decking is the majority of strength found in a dock design, and to have a stronger dock you also needed stronger decking. Many of the historical problems encountered were that to save weight, decking was thin and needed many supports under it. The solution was lighter but thicker decking.
This was found by using light weight two inch cedar, and a two part vinyl in removable panels. This allowed for the removal of manageable decking sections to eliminate unneeded weight during installation, in addition to alleviating the excess weight caused by additional decking supports. Not only was weight saved, but the decking materials absorbed impact better reducing the chance of breaking decking boards. Two part vinyl is a non-slip, non-marking, non-fading, heat resistant, and scratch resistant surface backed by a 20 year manufacturer’s warrantee.
An unique aspect to the vinyl is the Pop-N-Drop (PND) decking concept. The PND concept works so that when a large swell capable of lifting a docks footing hits the underside of the panels, it would exceed the load rating on the panel ties allowing the panel to pop up and drop safely to settle on the bottom only few feet away from the dock frame.
Finally one of the more convenient features of the design is the integrated track system. This allows for quick mounting of accessories, braces, and connection of sections.

By using the track, there is no drilling required for mounting braces, bumpers, and only minimal drilling for accessories, such as ladders and benches. In turn, the lack of drilling needed creates an original setup appearance even after reconfiguration.
